Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu will first meet in the DStv Premiership match when the two sides meet at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
PSL WEEKEND – ALL THE BETTING ODDS
The Soweto giants will come into this encounter after booking their place in the MTN8 semi-finals after they beat Stellenbosch FC 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 1-1 at the Danie Craven Stadium this past weekend.
Meanwhile, Usuthu enter this fixture after sealing their progression to the MTN8 semi-finals after they edged out Cape Town City 2-1 at Athlone Stadium through goals from Augustine Chidi Kwem and Lehlohonolo Majoro.
Amakhosi currently occupies ninth place in the league standings with only six points from five games, while AmaZulu are placed third on the table with 10 points from five matches.
We are playing against AmaZulu and we all know it’s not going to be an easy one,” Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane said.
“They are doing very well at the present moment.
“They have been winning their league games and they are also through to the semi-finals against us, and they have assembled a very good squad with a good coach and technical staff.
“It’s going to be two legs that will be very difficult. There are no easy games. These are knockouts so it depends on how we approach it home and away and how they respond, because first we are playing against them in a league game this weekend.
“We are looking forward to the game and we hope that we will do well and go through to the final.”
When the two teams met in the DStv Premiership last season, both the home and away legs ended in 1-1 draws with Amakhosi and Usuthu sharing the spoils and walking away with two points each.
Arthur Zwane and Brandon Truter are both expected to have fully fit squads for the encounter as both teams have no injuries or suspensions.
Ashley Du Preez will look to continue his form in from of goal after finding the back of the net against his former club Stellenboscg FC in his previous matches following his return from injury.
Gabadinho Mhango has been in impressive form in his first six matches for AmaZulu, having already bagged three goals and most recently grabbed an assist in their win over Cape Town City.
