TS Galaxy will aim to maintain their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership when they play host to Cape Town City at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Rockets come into this fixture off the back of their second consecutive draw following their goalless draw against Chippa United at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday 24 August.
The Citizens, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back following their exit from the MTN8 after they suffered a 2-1 defeat to AmaZulu in the quarter-finals at Athlone Stadium this past weekend.
Galaxy currently sits in fifth place on the table with nine points after five games, while City are placed 12th in the league standings with five points from five matches.
“Cape Town City is a well-organised team based on possession play so it will be a really difficult game because I know they are a really tough team to play against,” TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic said.
“They also have a great coach so we have to be at our best and try to control the ball to have the ability to play as a team, the ability to score after some opportunities that we get and I’m sure we will get these kinds of opportunities.”
Meanwhile, Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler said: “When you don’t take your chances you get punished.
“The goal we conceded very early in the game (came from) poor defensive errors and then you end up chasing the game.
“In the first half we created opportunities that we needed to put in the net and we didn’t do that. We needed to be a little bit more patient on the ball, rotate it a little bit more.”
The good news for both Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic and Eric Tinkler of City is that they have no new fresh injuries or suspensions to report ahead of their upcoming clash this weekend.
Matlala Makgalwa will be relishing to chance to make his first start of the new campaign and be afforded the opportunity to showcase his talent after his impressive performance off the bench against Chippa United in his last appearance for Galaxy.
Khanyisa Mayo has been in some form for City in recent games after he got his name on the scoresheet in his side’s recent defeat to AmaZulu in the MTN8 to take his goal tally to three goals in seven matches.
