Chelsea and Leicester City will be looking to bounce back from shock defeats last time out when they clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues were humbled 3-0 by Leeds while the Foxes were surprised by 2-1 Southampton.
The Blues will start in 12th place with four points after three games – hardly the kind of start expected from Thomas Tuchel’s side after the new owners threw around the money in the off-season. Leicester City are 19th and so this match is already taking on serious consequences.
“The transfer period is still open and it gets later and later and we need to focus on what we have and what we can do,” Thomas Tuchel told reporters after the match at Leeds.
“Everything was going well. I still believe we can win with this team in Leeds. It is more our fault than anybody else’s credit.
“There’s no time to be shocked. For 20 minutes, we did it. But then we did stuff that cost us the dominance and chance to create more chances.
“But still, we did not invite pressure or create chances. We were not under pressure or in chaos.”
When the two sides met in the Premier League last season, Chelsea came out on top after they walked away with four out of a possible six points.
Tuchel is expected to be without four key players for their next fixture as N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Armando Broja are out through injury, while defender Kalidou Koulibaly is suspended for the game.
Meanwhile, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers only has one player on the sidelines in the form of right-back Ricardo Pereira, who continues to nurse his way back to full fitness from an achilles tendon rupture.
Despite registering his first assists for the Blues, Raheem Sterling will go in search of his first goal for Chelsea.
James Maddison will be looking to continue his current momentum for Leicester after he found the back of the net in back-to-back appearances for his first and second goal of the campaign against Arsenal and Southampton.
