Bongani Zungu could be ending his spell in Europe and returning to ply his trade in the PSL, according to report.
Now a free agent after leaving French side Amiens, the midfielder has continued to be linked with a move to his homeland with Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns both strongly tipped to land him on a free transfer.
The Bafana Bafana star’s time in Europe appears up.
Since leaving Amiens, there’s not been a lot of talk linking him with a move. The South African international grabbed headlines when he linked up with Scottish giants Rangers on loan in 2020. But they refused to sign him permanently as his form dwindled following a fast start.
Having moved to Europe in 2017 when joining Portugal club side Vitoria Guimarares, Zungu has bounced around from club to club without gaining serious momentum at any one side.

In a report that appeared on Phakaaathi on Wednesday, it’s suggested that Sundowns could be edging closer to securing the services of Zungu.
“Zungu has always made it clear that he wants to play for Sundowns again, and the club are working around the clock to bring him back to Chloorkop,” said the source.
“He has a good relationship with coach Rulani Mokwena and everyone is hoping that Mokwena can broker the deal for the club,” the source added.
Zungu’s career took off at Sundowns and it appears it is where it will attempt to resume flight once more.
