Barcelona will be looking to continue their winning momentum when they take on Juventus in their next pre-season friendly at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Texas on Wednesday.
The Spanish giants are after their third straight win during pre-season after they claimed the El Clasico bragging right by clinching a narrow 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid through a sensational goal by new signing Raphinha at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this past weekend.
Barcelona started their preparations for the new season with a 1-1 draw against Olot on July 13 before heading out to North America for their pre-season tour.
Xavi’s men opened their schedule with an impressive 6-0 victory over Phil Neville’s Inter Miami side on July 19 before defeating Real in the Clasico.
The Old Lady, meanwhile, will come into this fixture fresh off playing their first pre-season friendly following their 2-0 victory over Mexican outfit Guadalajara at the Allegiant Stadium, with a 10th-minute goal from Marco Da Graca and an 80th-minute goal from Mattia Compagnon.
In head-to-head stats between the two teams, Barcelona has the upper hand over Juve having won three out of the last five fixtures to the Italians one, while the other match-up ended in a goalless draw.
Barcelona boss Xavi is unlikely to make many changes to his start that started against Real Madrid as midfielder Franck Kessie will come back into the linuep to replace Gavi.
Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will both be keen to start but competition for places in attack is tough. They will need to convince their manager to leave one of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Ansu Fati out of the starting XI.
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is expected to ring changes to his side that started against Guadalajara, with the returning Paul Pogba and Gleison Bremer likely to make the starting lineup, with Leonardo Bonucci and Dusan Vlahovic also expected to make the starting XI.
