Germany and England will both be out to secure their first UEFA Nations League victories at the second attempt when they renew their long-standing rivalry at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday evening.
The German outfit will be hoping to bounce back after they were held to a 1-1 draw against Italy in their opening group stage game after Joshua Kimmich cancelled out Lorenzo Pellegrini’s 70th-minute opener at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ar on Saturday.
England, meanwhile, are looking to return to winning ways after they were forced to endure a narrow 1-0 defeat to Hungary in their opening group stage game at the Puskás Aréna with Dominik Szoboszlai scoring the only goal of the match.
Germany currently sits in second place in the Group A3 standings with one point from one game, while England are yet to claim their first points in the group, sitting at the foot of the table.
England manager Gareth Southgate says: “The balance of finding out about new things and the consistency of the regular team; I have to look at whether I got that right [against Hungary].”
In the last five meetings between the two teams, both Germany and England have won two out of the last five while one game has ended in a goalless draw.

Joshua Kimmich: The Bayern Munich midfielder seems to be the German side’s lucky charm as they have never lost when he found the back of the net, with three of his four goals coming after the 70th minute.
Jarrod Bowen: The West Ham United forward impressed on his England debut against Hungary, despite suffering a defeat, but Bowen has managed to score seven goals for club side West Ham United before the hour-mark.
