Cape Town All Stars will be relishing the chance to secure their first win in the PSL Promotion/Relegation playoff when they travel to the ABSA Tuks Stadium to face the University of Pretoria on Wednesday afternoon.
AmaTuks will be looking to bounce back against All Stars after they were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Swallows FC at the Tuks ABSA Stadium this past weekend.
All Stars, meanwhile, will be looking to overcome their slump in the playoffs after they suffered a second consecutive defeat following their 2-1 loss to Swallows FC at the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium last Wednesday as Mbulelo Wambi and Joseph Mhlongo cancelled out Justice Figuareido’s 40th-minute opener.
The University of Pretoria currently sits at the top of the playoff standings – level on four points with second-placed Swallows FC, while Cape Town All Stars are placed at the foot of the table with zero points after two matches.
In head-to-head stats between the two teams, AmaTuks has the upper hand over the Cape Town-based outfit after winning three of the last five meetings against them, while one game has ended in a draw, with All Stars winning just one match.
Siyanda Msani will have a fully fit squad for the clash but will be cautioned to field the likes of Ayanda Mvambi, Etiosa Ighodaro, and Thabang Sibanyoni, who are all sitting on three yellow cards, while Allan Freese will have his entire squad fit and ready but will have four players one yellow card away from suspension in the form of Ayabulela Konqobe, Ronaldo Maarman, Ryan Baartman, and Sirgo Kammies.
