TS Galaxy will be looking to extend Orlando Pirates’ winless run in the DStv Premiership when the two sides square off at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Monday afternoon.

TS Galaxy are looking for a positive result when they take on the Buccaneers after they dropped points in their last league game when they shared the spoils with Maritzburg after playing out to a 1-1 draw at the Mbombela Stadium as Friday Samu’s late goal cancelled out Augustine Chidi Kwem’s 63rd-minute penalty.

The Rockets come into this encounter sitting in 15th place in the league standings – level on 23 points with 14th placed Swallows FC three points adrift of the safety zone.

Orlando Pirates dropped vital points in the league after they were forced to endure a dull goalless draw against Chippa United in their last league encounter played at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite the draw, Pirates leapfrogged rivals Kaizer Chiefs to claim fourth place on the table with 40 points from 26 matches, one point behind Cape Town City in third position and five behind second-place Royal AM.

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic says: “Of course, we would have liked to win because every point is important for us but okay we take it and we now have to prepare for the next game because again it will be a tough game.”

Orlando Pirates coach Mandla Ncikazi adds: “We have to go there and make the best of it. We can’t complain, it’s not the stage to complain. Pirates must fight like soldiers and represent the badge, the country, and the millions of Pirates supporters.”

Orlando Pirates and TS Galaxy have only met on three occasions heading into this league clash with the Buccaneers claiming a 2-0 win over the Rockets in the previous game while Galaxy won the game before that by 1-0, with the first meeting ending in a 1-1 draw.

Sead Ramovic is expected to have his entire squad fit and ready for the clash, while Pirates will be without the services of defender Paseka Mako, who is out for the rest of the season after picking up a serious head injury.

Wayde Lekay will be eager to rediscover his form and end his seven-match goal trough when they take on Pirates, having last found the back of the net during their 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows in December 18, 2021.

Despite having numerous chances and failing to score in his previous encounter, Kwame Peprah is the man in form for the Buccaneers at the moment having already scored seven goals across all competitions for them so far this season.
