Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership when they welcome Golden Arrows to the FNB Stadium on Saturday.


Kaizer Chiefs will come into the game on a three-game unbeaten run in the league after they extended their run when they claimed the bragging rights in the Soweto derby with a 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium in their last match.


The Glamour Boys have not lost a league game in four games since their defeat to Royal AM, playing to a goalless draw against Cape Town City followed by a narrows 1-0 win over Baroka before clinching a 2-1 win over Pirates last time out.

Amakhosi currently sit in third place on the log table with 35 points, 16 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after they conceded just four defeats, won 10 and played out to five draws in 19 matches.


Golden Arrows will be hoping to return to winning ways after they suffered a 2-1 loss to Chippa United at the Princess Magogo Stadium when Siphesihle Mkhize and Sandile Mthethwa cancelled out Pule Mmodi’s first-minute opener.

In their last three league matches, Abafana Bes’thende has managed only one win and two defeats, first conceding a 1-0 loss to Cape Town City before returning to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Maritzburg United followed by a 2-1 loss to Chippa United in the last match.

Arrows currently occupy 11th place in the league standings with a total of 25 points after they have only won five, drawn 10 and suffered five defeats in 20 league matches.

Chiefs have come out on top over Arrows in their last three encounters in the DStv Premiership, having won two out of three matches while one game saw them share the spoils after it ended in a draw.

Despite not scoring in his last games against Orlando Pirates, Khama Billiat will be looking to add to his tally, having scored two goals in his last four matches, taking his total up to seven goals for the season.

Arrows will turn to their top scorer Michael Gumede to rediscover his form in front of goal produced the goods against Amakhosi – having already bagged six goals this campaign.

Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has only one injury on the cards in the form of attacker Dumisani Zuma, who remains sidelined through injury, while Lehlohonolo Seema has no reported injuries or suspensions ahead of the clash.
