Al Nassr start Matchweek 8 in third place with 16 points from seven matches, after five wins, one draw and one defeat. They sit two points behind leaders Al Hilal.

Diriyah are eighth after winning three and drawing two of their first seven matches in the club’s debut Saudi Pro League season. That record makes this a meeting between a title contender and the strongest-starting promoted side, rather than a generic favourite-versus-underdog fixture.

The latest senior meeting came in the King’s Cup on 18 August 2026, when Al Nassr recovered from conceding first to win 4-1. The clubs do not have a long recent Saudi Pro League H2H record because Diriyah are playing their first top-flight season.

Cristiano Ronaldo remains Al Nassr’s main attacking reference, with João Félix and Kingsley Coman providing additional creativity and goal threat around him.

Diriyah’s summer recruitment has added significant experience to their first Saudi Pro League campaign. Darwin Núñez gives Bruno Lage a direct attacking option, while Idrissa Gana Gueye adds control and leadership in midfield.
