Slavia Praha have several availability concerns before kick-off. UEFA lists Tomáš Holeš, David Moses, Ange Caumenan N’Guessan/Ouanda, Lukáš Provod and Mubarak Suleiman among the players unavailable or carrying issues, while David Zima has also been monitored after taking a blow to the head in Slavia’s 4-0 league win over Zbrojovka Brno.

Lens have confirmed that Yacine Titraoui is out. Matthieu Udol returned to training on Wednesday and was given the green light to be available, while recent arrivals Jean-Clair Todibo and Junior Kadile travelled with the group. Other late fitness decisions should be confirmed closer to kick-off.

Markovič; Vlček, Zima, Chaloupek; Isife, Nowak, Sadílek, Jurásek; Šturm, Ayaosi; Chorý.

Risser; Antonio, Ganiou, Todibo; Skóraś, Haidara, Cuisance, Udol; Thauvin, Ivanović; Édouard.

These are possible lineups based on the latest UEFA team-news information and should not be presented as confirmed starting XIs. Official lineups should replace them only when released before kick-off.

Slavia Praha and Lens have met twice before in UEFA competition. Their only previous tie came in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup third round, when the first leg in Prague finished 0-0 before Slavia won 1-0 in Lens to progress 1-0 on aggregate.

Slavia are unbeaten through their opening seven Czech league matches, with five wins and two draws. Their latest result was a 4-0 home victory over Zbrojovka Brno. Lens opened Ligue 1 with a 5-2 win over Auxerre but have since lost 2-1 at Strasbourg and 1-0 at home to Lorient.

For Slavia Praha, Tomáš Chorý gives the attack a focal point after scoring twice in the 4-0 win over Zbrojovka Brno. Jindřich Trpišovský has also highlighted Lens’ speed in attack and the pace of their centre-backs, while noting that the French side have created chances without always converting them.

Lens captain Florian Thauvin remains central to the visitors’ attacking play, with Michaël Cuisance and Amadou Haidara offering midfield control. Lens coach Dino Toppmöller expects an intense match with plenty of duels and direct play from Slavia, particularly balls played quickly into attacking areas.

That makes the midfield and second-ball battle important without turning the preview into a prediction. Slavia’s direct approach and Lens’ pace in transition are two of the clearest tactical themes to follow once the match starts.
