Sekhukhune United are out to spoil Kaizer Chiefs run when they meet at the at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
The match will have plenty of beef. This comes after Amakhosi Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr became a major talking point in the media recently.
He responded to defender Daniel Cardoso’s dig at Arthur Zwane rebuilding project at Naturena, after he mentioned that the club won’t be successful by fielding a group of young players.
“With all due respect, you have never heard Dr. Motaung coming to radio addressing comments disgruntled former players made,” Motaung said.
“But with Cardoso, he spent seven years at the club as a senior player and won nothing. It was a period where we were least successful.
“It baffles me why [Cardoso] would utter the word ‘titles’. It’s more of a slap in the face for our fans because he played almost all the games when he was here. [Cardoso’s comments] were tone-deaf but we wish him all the best at his club.”

After reaching the semifinals of the Nedbank Cup last week, Sekhukhune head into their next game on the back of a morale boosting 2-1 win over Chippa United in the popular showpiece.
Babina Noko are unbeaten in their last three matches in the DStv Premiership, with their most recent league outing being a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United earlier this month. As it stands, Sekhukhune look to remain within the league’s top eight and currently occupy 7th position, nine points behind Chiefs who are in 4th spot.
Overall, Sekhukhune are unbeaten in their last five encounters in all competitions as they begin to gather positive results in the business end of the 2022/23 season.
