We take a look at the action on Friday in the Africa Cup of Nations and bring you three bets to bank on.
Three home teams to win:
Senegal vs Mozambique
Cameroon vs Namibia
Egypt vs Malawi
If you bet R10 on all three home teams to win you will earn R21.55.
Here’s why you should thinking about taking this bet:
The reigning champs are as close to a sure bet in soccer as you get. The Lions of Teranga have made a strong start in their qualification campaign with wins over Benin (3-1 at home) and Rwanda (1-0 away).
Sadio Mane, Idrissa Gueye and Kalidou Koulibaly are all worldclass talents and that leaves Mozambique on a hiding to nothing.
Cameroon vs Namibia
Cameroon have three straight home wins and have not conceded in that period. Plus Namibia are currently 80 places below their hosts in the latest FIFA rankings.
It’s hard to say but you have to look at Namibia as a one-man team … Peter Shalulile. The Sundowns forward has been in sensational form netting eight times in his last six games.
But he’ll need a lot of service if he’s to score against Cameroon, who are still buzzing from their World Cup appearance. They have Vincent Aboubakar as well as Bayern forward Eric Choupo-Moting in their attacking lineup and should prove far too strong.
A tricky one but the home team should be too strong. It’s tricky because the group is closely contested so far with all four teams in Group D tied on three points.
One would have to imagine that Mo Salah will be rampant for his country. Far and away the headline act in Egypt’s 24-man squad, he is a two-time African Player of the Year.
Midtjylland midfielder Emam Ashour is another to watch.
Back in 2015, Egypt snuck a 2-1 win but they are 3 games unbeaten including a friendly win over Belgium. The Pharoahs have scored eight goals in those meetings and will be looking to fire themselves to top spot again in the group.
