Arsenal will have a golden opportunity to put down the biggest marker yet of their title ambitions on Sunday.
A visit to Spurs for the North London Derby awaits fans and heading into the contest, all eyes are on Mikel Arteta’s men.
Arsenal are back in Premier League action this weekend after their recent foray into the FA Cup, where they booked passage into the fourth round with a 3-0 win over League One outfit Oxford United.
It was a strong side name by Arteta and he was left to rue a knock picked up by Bukayo Saka.
He was substituted with 15 minutes to go in the second half against Oxford. Signs were positive concerning his injury as he was able to walk around the pitch and back to the bench as Emile Smith Rowe was introduced, highlighting that Arteta may be taking precautions with the youngster.
It should be noted that Saka will miss next week’s match against Manchester United if he picks up a caution in this game. The same goes for William Saliba.
The reverse fixture of this match ended in a 3-1 victory for the red half of London, but it may be a different type of challenge away from home.
Antonio Conte’s Tottenham side will welcome the table-topping side and the Italian has plenty of decisions to make.
The pressure will be on both sides on the day as Arsenal look to maintain their five-point lead over second-placed Manchester City in the Premier League while Spurs, in fifth spot and two points behind third-placed Newcastle, will not want the Gunners to pull away into a huge 14 point lead ahead of them in the table if they were to come and win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
