Wednesday sees four games of league action in England with Spurs’ needing a win on their visit to Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace will hope to be rude hosts once again on Wednesday as Spurs arrive at Selhurst Park. The Lilywhites have struggled in this derby and have not won in four tries.

A 3-0 win was the last result with two 1-1 draws before that and also a 2-0 win in the run of home games for Palace against Spurs.

Palace need the good energy after being thumped 3-0 by Fulham. Spurs will also be licking their wounds, they endured a 2-0 loss to Villa after a howler from Hugo Lloris.

The loss saw Spurs drop to fifth and the knives are out for Lloris.

The France captain is now 36 and is into his 11th season between the sticks in north London, though his increasingly error-strewn displays are causing concern.

Pundit Graeme Souness insisted the Spurs stalwart is “past his sell-by date” during Sky Sports’ broadcast.

“I am not a big fan of Lloris, I have said it for a long time,” said Souness.

“I think he, since the start of last season he has made four errors that have led to goals. That’s the worst in the Premier League for goalkeepers.”

Antonio Conte is likely to recall Dejan Kulusevski, who was a shock omission against Villa. The Italian mentor will still be without Richarlison, who is slowly working his way back from the thigh injury he sustained while representing Brazil at the World Cup.

The striker is expected to remain out for another three weeks still.
