Brazil are expected to beat Croatia in the first quarter-final match but they will need to be at their best. Croatia have played in two World Cup quarter-finals and advanced on both occasions. Also, Croatia have lost just once since Euro 2020 last summer (W13, D6).

Ivan Perišić moved level with Davor Šuker as Croatia’s leading goal scorer.
The match between Netherlands and Argentina is a rematch of the 2014 semi-final. It ended 0-0 on that occasion before Argentina progressed on penalties.
Manchester City fans will watch the duel between Nathan Aké and Julián Álvarez. The striker has scored in each of his last six appearances of at least 40 minutes for club or country. Netherlands’ defender Aké has not tasted defeat in an international match for more than two years (W11, D6).
Portugal are expected to run riot again after beating Switzerland 6-1. But they face the best defense in the cup.
Morocco have conceded just one goal in their last eight outings
The 0-0 draw against Spain before Morocco’s eventual penalties win was a seventh at this World Cup, equalling an all-time record in the competition.

France and England is the game of the round and the Three Lions have an uphill battle.

England also have just one win across the last eight fixtures against France (D2, L5) . England are the only team yet to collect a yellow card at this World Cup.
