Holders France are looking to continue their current momentum at the World Cup when they take on Denmark at Stadium 974 in Doha on Saturday evening.
France will be high in confidence after kicking off their title defence with a convincing 4-1 victory over Australia.
Denmark were held to a goalless draw by African giants Tunisia Education City Stadium on Tuesday.
France are top of Group D with three points after one game, while Denmark are placed third – level on one point with second-placed Tunisia.
The two teams have met thrice in the World Cup, with all their encounters coming in the group stage with three different results, including a 2-1 win for France in 1998 followed by a 2-0 victory for Denmark in 2002 and a goalless draw in their last encounter back in 2018.
Didier Deschamps is only expected to be without one player, Lucas Hernández, who will miss the rest of the World Cup after sustaining a knee injury in their win over Australia, while Kasper Hjulmand has no injuries or suspensions to report in the Denmark camp.
Olivier Giroud will be relishing to chance to take to the field in the next encounter as his next goal will see him surpass Thierry Henry’s goalscoring record for France after equalling the record on Tuesday when he bagged a brace against Australia.
Christian Eriksen will look to open his account for Denmark when they take on the world champions and had to the 39 goals he already scored for the national team in 118 appearances.
