West Ham United and Bournemouth will both be looking to bounce back from defeats when they meet at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Monday evening.

The Hammers will come into this fixture hoping to return to winning ways after they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Liverpool after Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the game at Anfield.

The defeat sees West Ham drop to 17th place in the league standings – level on 11 points with 16th place Leicester City, while Bournemouth’s defeat leaves them in 13th place on the log with 13 points after 11 matches played so far this season.

“At that time, every point was going to be crucial for us. It was a great start and it was probably a big boost that the players needed,” West Ham boss David Moyes said.

“I have to say that what the players have done in the last three years has been remarkable.

“From that group of players being near relegation, to being a group that has been challenging towards the Uefa Champions League [places] for the last two years, that says a lot about how they’ve changed and the character they have.”

When the two sides last met in the Premier League, West Ham walked away with four points out of a possible six after playing to a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium before the Hammers cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory at the London Stadium in the return leg.

David Moyes looks set to be without four key players for the clash as Lucas Paqueta remains injured alongside Nayef Aguerd, while Maxwel Cornet and Craig Dawson are doubtful for the encounter and could potentially return this weekend.

Gary O’Neil will keep the same squad with just two players remaining on the sidelines as David Brooks and Lloyd Kelly continue their recovery.

Gianluca Scamacca, who already netted six goals for the Hammers this campaign, could make history against Bournemouth by becoming the first player to score in his first three home Premier League games for the club since Diafra Sakho achieved this feat in 2014.

Dominic Solanke has been one of the Cherries’ standout performers this season as he has already contributed to five goals, including two goals and three assists in nine league appearances so far this campaign.
