Chelsea moved closer to advancing to the knockout phase with a 2-0 win over AC Milan on Tuesday.
The victory was Chelsea’s second over the Serie A champions and helped them put their Champions League destiny in their own hands. The Blues must, at worst, now win one of their next two matches to move past the group phase.
Manchester City rested Erling Haaland and played out to a 0-0 draw at Copenhagen. The draw was enough to put them into the knockout phase with two games to go.
Crucially, Haaland enjoyed a rare night off ahead of Sunday’s clash against Liverpool.
The draw was one of 5 in the Champions League as PSG drew with Benfica 1-1 and Dortmund drew with Sevilla with the same margin as did RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb. Real Madrid were also held to a 1-1 draw by Shakhtar
The biggest shock of the night came as Maccabi Haifa enjoyed their first win in 20 years in the UCL when they defeated Juventus 2-0.
Their last victory came on October 29, 2002 when they beat Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United 3-0.
