Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to end their three-match winless run in the DStv Premiership when they play hosts to SuperSport United at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
Amakhosi will come into this fixture looking to return to winning ways after they were forced to settle for a point following their 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants.
SuperSport, meanwhile, will be looking to secure their fourth straight win in the league after they secured a 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United.
The defeat saw Chiefs drop down to 14th place while SuperSport’s victory sees them remain in sixth place.
“But like I’ve been saying it’s a work in progress we know we going to get it right but I’m obviously disappointed, today we deserved better even though we did not play well,” Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane said.
“But we should have done better in terms of converting, though we didn’t have clear-cut chances we had numbers inside the box, we just had to pick one and score, just like we scored from a dead-ball situation.”
When the two teams met in the DStv Premiership last season, both teams walked away with a positive result each after Chiefs edged out SuperSport 2-1 in the first leg before United redeemed themselves with a narrow 1-0 win in the return leg.
Arthur Zwane will be without the services of three key players including Reeve Frosler and Khama Billiat due to injury, while Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has been given time off by to deal with a family bereavement, while Gavin Hunt is expected to have a fully fit squad for the upcoming match.
Zitha Kwinika will be looking to build on his previous performance for Amahosi which saw him score his first goal for the Soweto giants as his late equaliser earned them a point against Marumo Gallants in his last appearances.
Bradley Grobler will be determined to get his name on the score sheet after failing to find the net in his previous appearances against Maritzburg United, having already scored three goals in his last seven league appearances.
