Liverpool will go in search of their first win in the Premier League this season when they host Crystal Palace at Anfield on Monday evening.
The Reds come into this encounter hoping to bounce back after they were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw by Fulham after a brace from Aleksandar Mitrovic cancelled out goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah at Craven Cottage last weekend.
Palace, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back after they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal in the first London derby of the season.
“I’m happy with the strength and quality of my squad. But we have injuries, that’s how it is. The question is how long the players are out and there are different solutions. One is the transfer market but only makes sense if the right player,” Liverpool manager Klopp said.
“All the other solutions are inside the squad, we definitely have too many injuries that is clear. Naby will be back on Monday. Kostas will train today for the first time and might be back. If we had the right solution then we would have done it already. We are not stubborn.
“If we look at the right player and there would have been an opportunity, then we would do it and would have done it. We have had a lot of conversations but it doesn’t look like (it will happen). We would have done that from day one of the window but it’s just not possible or extremely difficult.
“So I don’t think about it. Other solutions are inside the squad. We have too many injuries, that’s clear. Keita is back and Tsimikas might train today. Thiago is good, but the injury is not. I read four to six weeks. I would prefer four!”
When the two sides went head-to-head in the Premier League last season, Liverpool did the double over Palace by claiming a 3-0 win at Anfield in the first leg before clinching a 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park in the return leg.
Jurgen Klopp will be without the services of six players, which include Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher, Ibrahima Konate, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago due to their respective injuries, while the likes of Naby Keita and Kostas Tsimikas is also a doubt for their upcoming match.
Palace manager Patrick Vieira will be expected to make a few changes as the likes of Jack Butland, James McArthur, Michael Olise and James Tomkins are out of action with their respective injuries.
Darwin Nunez will be looking to impress as he makes his Anfield debut after he scored and assisted a goal in his first appearance in the Premier League on matchday one.
