SuperSport United have officially confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Ricardo Goss from Mamelodi Sundowns on a two-season loan deal.
Goss joins Matsatsantsa as a replacement for former captain Ronwen Williams, who left United after 19 years of service to join Tshwane rivals Sundowns.
The 28-year-old will now be reunited with head coach Gavin Hunt after the duo spent two seasons together at Bidvest Wits before the keeper joined Sundowns in September 2020.
The KwaZulu-Natal-born shot stopper brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for Golden Arrows, Real Kings, Bidvest Wits and Sundowns.
Throughout his career, he has managed to keep 20 clean sheets from 46 appearances across all competitions.
United CEO Stan Matthews said about the new acquisition, “We are very happy to welcome Ricardo to the club for the next two seasons.
“Our Head Coach Gavin Hunt has worked with Ricardo extensively and rates him very highly.
“We look forward to him contributing to success on the field for us and for him to then be challenging for a place in Bafana Bafana again.”
New signing Ricardo Goss added: “I am very excited to join SuperSport United and I have been welcomed warmly by the boys.
“There are familiar faces in the camp, which made it easier for me to settle in the team.
“To the Matsatsantsa supporters, I am looking forward to interact with you and together we can try and win some silverware.”
