Manchester United may lead the race to sign Ajax Amsterdam’s Antony but Liverpool are reportedly keen to make a move.
The summer window is heating up! First Manchester United confirmed deals for Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez and now they are keen to go back to the Dutch giants for a second player.
Antony could cost as much as £60m but the fee is apparently too high for Liverpool. The Reds must now decide if the signing Darwin Nunez is enough to keep their attacking options fresh.
Nunez signed for a club-record £85m fee on a six year deal. He comes in after the exits of Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino.
While United boss Erik ten Hag is keen on Antony reuniting with him, it is being written that Liverpool have enquired about 22-year-old Antony.
Some suggest United will wait to see if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves before moving for the 22-year-old.
Antony hailed Ten Hag back in February.
“Erik ten Hag is an incredible manager, with lots of eye for detail. The team is the most important to him, but every player becomes better due to his training sessions. Since my arrival he gave me so much confidence, I am thankful for that and I respect him a lot,” said the wideman.
Antony, joined Ajax from Sao Paolo in 2020 for a fee of around £14m. His 78 appearances have yielded 22 goals and 20 assists leading to interest from the Premier League.
