Manchester City are reportedly stepping up their bid to sign Brighton and Hove Albion left-back Marc Cucurella as a replacement for Arsenal-bouned full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.
With the Ukrainian star, Zinchenko heading to Arsenal for £30 million, the Premier League champions are looking to quickly snap up the Brighton full-back, who only arrived at the South Coast outfit last summer.
Cucurella has been on City’s radar for most of the transfer window after his impressive debut campaign in the Premier League with Brighton but the only stumbling block for the Citizens could be Brighton’s asking price for the Spaniard.
The Seagulls are reportedly looking to secure a fee in the region of £50m for the 23-year-old, but Man City will be looking for a reduced price as they wait on Zinchenko’s sale to be finalised to fund their move for the left back.
City coach Pep Guardiola is now keen to reunite with Cucurella, having previously worked together during Cucurella’s time at the infamous La Masia academy when he was 14 years old.
