Manchester United have reportedly reached a “full agreement” with Barcelona over a possible £72 million transfer for midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been United’s top transfer target this summer with new manager Erik ten Hag keen on bringing the Dutchman to Old Trafford.
Man Utd and Barca have already agreed a deal for the midfielder but personal terms are yet to be agreed upon.
The Netherlands international is reportedly keen on remaining at the Spanish giants after numerous reports suggested that the club still owed him millions in unpaid wages.
ten Hag is keen on a reunion with De Jong, having previously worked together at Dutch club Ajax before he secured a €75m move to the Camp Nou back in 2019.
De Jong was scheduled to hold talks with Barca on Monday regarding his future upon his return for pre-season training, but they are happy enough to listen to offers for the Dutchman as they look to raise funds for other transfers.
