BETTING PREVIEW: ASTON VILLA vs LIVERPOOL

Premier League

Liverpool will have the chance to draw level on points with Manchester City by claiming a much-needed win over Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

With just three games remaining in the Premier League season, the Reds’ hopes of overtaking City to claim the league title have dwindled. Jurgen Klopp’s team were held to a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, while City responded with a 5-0 win over Newcastle on Sunday.

As a result, City now have a handy three-point lead over the Reds, while also enjoying an improved goal difference (68 to 64).

BET ON LIVERPOOL AWAY AT VILLA

All Liverpool can do now is to push for a big win over 11th-placed Villa, while then hoping that City somehow slip up against Wolves on Wednesday.

The Reds saw a six-game winning run in all competitions come to an end at the weekend, but their unbeaten run domestically now stands at 16 matches, and they have kept clean sheets in four of their last five away from home.

Roberto Firmino should be fit to feature for Liverpool on Tuesday night, although it’s likely he will be brought back from a foot injury off the bench.

Meanwhile, Villa manager Steven Gerrard may be tempted to go with an unchanged XI following a commendable 3-1 win at Burnley on Saturday.

After a previous run of poor form that saw them drop to 15th, Aston Villa are ending the season on a high. Back-to-back wins has seen them rise to 11th and Gerrard will be looking to extend that at the expense of his former club.

Liverpool have lost two of their last three trips to Villa Park, but have won their last three matches against them in all competitions.

There is every reason to back the Reds to respond to the draw against Spurs by claiming a comfortable victory on Tuesday.
