The Netherlands will prepare for a swift return to the Johan Cruijff ArenA when they take on fellow heavyweights Germany in an international friendly on Tuesday evening.
The Dutch side will enter this fixture after they ran out 4-2 victors over their Scandinavian counterparts on Saturday through a brace from Steven Bergwijn and goals from Nathan Ake and Memphis Depay to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches across all competitions.

Meanwhile, the German outfit managed to secure a comfortable 2-0 victory over Israel in their previous game at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Saturday after Chelsea duo Kai Havertz and Timo Werner’s goals proved the difference in the game stretching their unbeaten run to 10 matches with their last defeat coming against France in the Uefa Euro tournament.
Germany coach Hansi Flick says: “We’re looking forward to this duel. I’m happy that we’re playing against Louis van Gaal.
“He’s someone who gave me a lot in my coaching career, because I appreciated Dutch football very much, loved it very much and kept learning from there.
“He was definitely one of the great coaches from whom I took a lot with me.”
In the last five meetings between the two sides, the Netherlands have managed to claim two wins and the German side have only claimed one victory, while two of those matches have ended in draws.
Louis van Gaal has no fresh concerns to report from Saturday’s game after the likes of Cody Gakpo, Jordan Teze and Jurrien Timber withdrew from the squad, while Hansi Flick did not pick up any fresh injury woes last time out following Serge Gnabry, Karim Adeyemi, Robin Koch and Joshua Kimmich absence from the squad.
Steven Bergwijn will be looking to continue his scoring momentum heading into the clash after he bagged a brace to help the Netherlands defeat Scandinavia in the last match.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz is currently in some kind of form for club and country, having scored in his last game for Germany as well as in his last few games for his club Chelsea.
