Senegal will battle it out with Guinea in their second 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B match at the Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam on Friday afternoon.
The Lions of Teranga got their group stage campaign off to a nervy start after Liverpool star Sadio Mane converted a penalty deep into stoppage time to hand his side a narrow 1-0 win over Zimbabwe in Bafoussam on Monday.
The National Elephants, meanwhile, managed to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over a wasteful Malawian outfit at the Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam on Monday evening as Issiaga Sylla’s 35th-minute goal proved to be the difference between the two teams.
The win for Senegal saw them claim second place in Group B level on three points with their next opponents Guinea, who sit at the top of the table, while Malawi and Zimbabwe make up the bottom half of the group.
In the most recent meeting between the two teams, Guinea came out victorious after they edged Senegal 1-0 in their Afcon second round second leg played at the Stade du 28 Septembre Stadium on 20 October 2019.
