Real Madrid host Liverpool while Manchester City travel to face Dortmund in the first of the Champions League quarter-finals.
REAL MADRID vs LIVERPOOL
A rematch of the 2018 finale, where Madrid claimed their 13th title, is on offer on Tuesday night as Zinedine Zidane’s unit comes up against Jurgen Klopp’s battling outfit.
Los Blancos progressed to this round after seeing off Atalanta while Liverpool safely downed RB Leipzig to set up this thrilling last eight encounter.
Madrid’s shakey group form was brushed aside when they dismissed Atalanta while their English counterparts were able to cast poor league form aside to beat RB Leipzig.
Since then, Liverpool have added wins against Wolves and a 3-0 crushing of Arsenal as they look to end the season well both in the domestic scene as well as in Europe.
The hosts are third on the log but do have three wins a row to carry into the contest.
While Liverpool’s injury woes have been well documented this season, the home side are also sweating on the fitness of a number of key players. Raphael Varane is expected to return in the centre of defence but will be missing his regular partner, Sergio Ramos, who has a calf niggle. Former Premier League star Eden Hazard is expected to be a bit-part player as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
For the Reds, Georginio Wijnaldum could return in midfield while the potent front three of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are likely to start with Diogo Jota coming off the bench later.
MANCHESTER CITY vs DORTMUND
In the second game of Tuesday, Dortmund are given little chance to beat the future English champions Manchester City. The Germans are 8.48-1 to win away while the Citizens are backed at 1.29-1 to get the victory on home soil.
Dortmund are fifth in the Bundesliga are were shocked 2-1 at home on Saturday by Frankfurt. That combined with City’s excellent form – and a 2-0 brushing aside of Leicester City – have many pointing to how many goals City might take into the return leg.
The biggest talking point of the night will be how Erling Braut Haaland fares. The Norwegian has been highly tipped to replace Sergio Aguero at the Etihad next season.
Haaland has scored in his last six Champions League outings and is the fastest to 20 continental goals and could be determined to shine in his biggest audition yet for the proposed blockbuster move in July.
Suggested bet: City to be leading at half-time at 1.74
