BETTING PREVIEW: MANCHESTER UNITED vs LIVERPOOL

The FA Cup will miss one giant in the next round as Manchester United host Liverpool in fourth round on Sunday.

For the second time in a week, the two most successful teams in English football will go head-to-head. The league encounter was a muted affair as the Red Devils left Anfield with a point following the goalless affair.

Since then, United beat Fulham 2-1; again coming from a goal down. Liverpool are now six points behind the league leaders after losing 1-0 at home to Burnley.

With pressure mounting on Jurgen Klopp to get his star firing again, the FA Cup could be an unwelcome distraction. The German mentor may sacrifice his side’s hopes in this contest to focus all energies on the Premier League defence and Champions League duties around the corner.

Manchester United had Marcus Rashford on the bench against Fulham and could continue on that vein with Edinson Cavani in fine form. There are no real injury concerns for the hosts while Liverpool’s lengthy injury list remains as such.

Defenders Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez remain sidelined with long-term injuries, but Joel Matip might be available for selection if Klopp wants to risk him.

Liverpool are Manchester United’s most common opponent in this competition, with 17 previous meetings. The Red Devils have nine wins with four draws. A draw in 90 minutes will see extra time and then possibly penalties lined up.

The match kicks off at 7pm.
