Itumeleng Khune has been recalled to the Bafana Bafana squad ahead of the AFCON qualifiers against Sao Tome and Principe.
Khune must now fight for the starting berth against the experienced Darren Keet and highly-rated SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
Joining Khune in returning to the national setup are Dean Furman, Bongani Zungu – now on the books of Rangers in Scotland – and Kamohelo Mokotjo.
Coach Molefi Ntseki will be desperate for the experienced players in the setup to show their class after watching an experimental lineup fail last month against Namibia (1-1) and then Zambia (1-2).
Results so far in qualifying: 2-0 defeat away to Ghana, 1-0 win against Sudan.
The first match is on 13 November in Sao Tome before the home leg which is scheduled for three days later.
