Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Wolves was impressive but it also helped break a record for most goals in a single game week in the Premier League.
Saturday’s goal-fest set the tone when Everton beat West Brom 5-2, Leeds edged Fulham 4-3 and Spurs thrashed Southampton 5-2.
The record of 43 goals – set in the 2010/11 season when 43 goals were scored in week 24 – was under threat as the goals kept coming.
It was then up to the dethroned champions Manchester City and they did not disappoint as they scored three times in their win over Wolves to get their 2020/21 campaign off to a successful start.

A total of 44 goals kept the fans entertained and especially those who love a bet on overs goals!
