We’ve got two PSL games to look forward to on Sunday with the marquee fixture the second game between Supersport United and Bloemfontein Celtic.
Sunday 16 August 2020
Black Leopards v Maritzburg United
Unfortunately there is little to suggest Black Leopards have enough to move off the bottom of the log. Mongezi Bobe and Morgan Shivambu have jointly replaced Alan Clark in the dugout. The pair then moved to bolster their squad by adding 10 players from their MDC squad to the main team. It’s a plan that will either work and be the stuff of legends or, and the safer bet, it will be too little, too late as Lidoda Duhva drop down to the first division.
Eric Tinkler’s Maritzburg, four from four before lockdown halted their rise, will relish the chance to take to the FNB Stadium for this clash and the pitch will only aid their attacking mindset. Tinkler starts as the new recipient of the February/March Coach of the Month award and will have his side ready to move from fifth to third by season’s close.
Suggested bet: Maritzburg to win
SuperSport United v Bloemfontein Celtic
This is arguably the hardest pick of the round with SuperSport starting as clear favourites in the market. Celtic won’t be pushovers and were clinical in their dismantling of Baroka in the Nedbank Cup. A match under the belt could be the advantage they need to surprise or at least, push all the way, their more fancied opponents.
SuperSport – who are dealing with at least one player out after testing positive for Covid-19 – will play at Wits’ home ground, a small venue which will may also suit the visitors this week.
Suggested bet: Draw at 3.42
