Mbappé starts a three-goal first half
Madrid forced Racing onto the back foot early. After Jude Bellingham tested Julen Agirrezabala with a header, Kylian Mbappé won a penalty when Matteo Prati fouled him inside the area. He converted in the 11th minute, putting the visitors ahead before Racing had settled.
Ten minutes later, Bellingham doubled the advantage after a move involving Mbappé and Arda Güler. Diomande then produced the standout finish of the afternoon, driving a right-footed strike from outside the box into the top corner in the 36th minute. The three goals gave Madrid control before the interval.
Racing’s response and Madrid’s clean sheet
Racing did create a chance shortly after the opener, but Thibaut Courtois saved Iker Luque’s effort. They struggled to turn possession into sustained pressure, and Madrid carried a three-goal cushion into the second half.
The visitors continued to threaten without adding a fourth. Mbappé had another opportunity, while Madrid’s defence protected the clean sheet. Racing finished with just one shot on target, a measure of how rarely they troubled Courtois. For the full event-by-event record and available match data, check the official La Liga report.
What the result means for Real Madrid’s season
The Real Madrid La Liga results picture improved with another away victory, but the table still had Barcelona first on 30 points, Atlético Madrid second on 28 and Madrid third on 27 after Matchday 11. The sixth straight win referred to the club’s run across all competitions, not six straight league victories.
Mourinho has more attacking options than Madrid had earlier in the campaign. Diomande’s goal provided another example of the contribution from the summer arrivals, while Bellingham and Mbappé combined to establish the advantage.
