Goal Rush: Free to Play. Call the First Goal & You Could Win R1 Million

Think you can read a match before it happens? Goal Rush is SportPesa’s Free to Play football prediction game where your instincts do the talking. For three pre-selected fixtures, you’ll predict which team will score first and the exact minute of that first goal. Get it spot-on across all three and you’re in line for the R1,000,000 Grand Prize. Even if you’re not perfect, there are daily cash prizes for the closest entries.

And this month, we’re taking it to the next level with the Varsity Football R100,000 Must-Win Challenge – an exclusive twist just for the tournament window. 

You get one free entry per day. To keep it fair, you must be an active SportPesa customer (you’ve placed a sports bet in the last 7 days). After submitting, share your predictions on a public social media account (Facebook, X/Twitter, or Instagram) so we can verify your entry. No public share = no valid entry.

Step-by-step:

• Log in to your SportPesa account.
• Go to Goal Rush.
• For each of the 3 matches, predict:
  • The team to score first
  • The exact minute of the first goal
• Submit (it’s Free to Play).
• Share your predictions publicly (FB, X/Twitter, or IG). Make sure your account/post is public and visible.

• Grand Prize: R1,000,000 (for a perfect score of 0 across all 3 matches).
• Daily prizes: R1,000 for the closest overall, plus R250 each for the next 20 closest.

• If your chosen team scores first:
• Points = |your minute − actual minute| (lower is better).
• If your team doesn’t score first: 1000 points for that match.
• If a match ends 0–0: 90 points for everyone for that game.

Lowest total points wins the daily prize. A perfect 0 makes you eligible for the R1 million.

Example: You pick Home to score first at 37′. If Home scores first at 10′, that’s |37 − 10| = 27 points.

If one Goal Rush game is cancelled or has no goals, that game is void; only the other two count. The R1 million isn’t available that day.

If all games end 0–0, each entry gets 90 points per game.

If two or more games are cancelled, Goal Rush is nullified for the day.

We verify using official data providers first. If needed, we may corroborate via teams’ official channels, reputable live-score sites, and match highlights. Full details live in the Goal Rush T&Cs.

Can I enter more than once a day?
No. It’s one free entry per day.

Do I have to place a bet to play?
You must be an active customer (placed a sports bet in the last 7 days).

Why do I have to post on social?
Your entry is only valid if your predictions are shared publicly (FB, X/Twitter, or IG) so we can verify it.

How will I know if I’ve won?
We’ll contact you via your registered phone number (and message) with instructions.

What time zone do you use?
All public match info is shown in SAST; internal systems may run in UTC but don’t affect your entry.

Here’s how it works:

• We track the single lowest score achieved during the entire Varsity Football tournament (7 Aug – 2 Oct 2025). 
• Every time you play Goal Rush on a Varsity Football matchday, you get a shot at setting the Score to Beat. 
• The player with the lowest score after the final whistle of the Men’s Final on 2 October 2025 wins the R100,000 Must-Win prize.

Round 1: Player A scores 150 points – they set the Score to Beat.

Round 3: Player B scores 43 points – new leader.

Round 5: Player C scores 92 points – not enough to beat 43, so Player B remains on top.

It’s that simple – one record-breaking round could be worth R100,000 in your pocket. 

In Goal Rush, the aim is to get the lowest score possible. Points are based on how many minutes you are off from the actual first goal time across three matches. The closer you are, the better – and a perfect score is 0 points.
