A Chaotic Start to the Assen Weekend
The Dutch Grand Prix at Assen was action-packed even before the race began. Moto2 riders Aron Canet and Sergio Garcia clashed in Turn 1, while the MotoGP category saw big names like Aleix Espargaro and Alex Marquez crashing early in practice sessions. With unpredictable weather and multiple crashes, the stage was set for an intense race weekend.
Marquez Powers Through Pain to Victory
Marc Marquez once again proved why he’s one of the sport’s greats. Despite nursing broken ribs and a finger injury from previous crashes, he secured a sprint race win and dominated Sunday’s main race. His ability to fend off a late push from Marco Bezzecchi showcased sheer resilience and experience.
Bezzecchi Finds His Rhythm on the Aprilia
Marco Bezzecchi impressed throughout the weekend, putting in one of his strongest performances of the season. After a tough start to 2025, the Italian finally looked comfortable on the Aprilia, battling closely with Marquez and securing a much-needed podium.
Binder Battles Bike Setup at KTM
Brad Binder’s frustrations continued at Assen, with yet another weekend marked by poor qualifying and a disappointing race finish. The KTM factory team’s recent shift towards a riding style that favours Maverick Viñales has left Binder — a consistent top contender — struggling to find his rhythm. Despite his loyalty and strong previous performances, Binder’s feedback seems to be taking a back seat in the team’s development direction.
Looking Ahead: Can KTM Rebalance Before the Next Race?
With KTM focusing on a more “front-heavy” riding setup and struggling to deliver consistent grip, it’s clear they need to rethink their balance — both in machine and team dynamics. As the season continues, all eyes will be on how they support both their riders, especially Binder, who remains a critical asset despite current setbacks.
