Manchester City will look to keep their place at the top of the table when West Ham arrive for a Premier League outing.
Wednesday could all but end the Premier League title race after City went clear at the top.
In-form City put themselves firmly in control of the title race with their 4-1 rout of Arsenal last week.
But, after being pushed hard by Fulham,Pep Guardiola is not taking anything for granted ahead of City’s home game against West Ham on Wednesday.
“West Ham maybe didn’t do the season they expected but that doesn’t mean the quality is not there,” he said.
“In the last two seasons with David Moyes they have been exceptional.
“The weapons are there, they are a good team. I don’t have doubts about them. In one game anything can happen. We have to be absolutely ready.”
Guardiola has to just sit back and watch Erling Haaland score for fun.
The 22-year-old netted his 34th goal of the league campaign in Sunday’s 2-1 win at Fulham, drawing him level with joint Premier League single-season record holders Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.
Haaland’s strike at Craven Cottage was his 50th goal of the season – he holds the all-competitions record by a Premier League player since the top flight was rebranded in 1992.
West Ham start on the back of two consecutive defeats.
David Moyes has proven to be a steady hand and West Ham are now in 15th place, four points ahead of the third-from-bottom Nottingham Forest having played a game less.
They are also in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.
“Through my career, I’ve been really fortunate that I’ve had really good chairmen and men with distinction who don’t buckle when the call comes,” Moyes said.
Few give West Ham a chance of avoiding defeat at a City side on an eight-game winning streak in the league and on course for a Premier League-Champions League-FA Cup treble.
“We’ve been to the Etihad a lot and it’s been hard to win, but I’ve got to say, we’ve given them some really good games when we’ve played them,” Moyes added.
