Cape Town City can all but guarantee their top eight place when Golden Arrows arrive on Wednesday for a PSL clash.
The Citizens needed to come out on top against Royal AM on the the weekend and they did.
It might’ve been done the hard way as they needed goals from Taahir Goedeman and Khanyisa Mayo to ensure a come from behind win.
The three points were valuable as they moved to 38 points, four clear of Swallows who are in eighth place on 34 points.
Royal AM are stuck now on 33 points alongside Arrows.
Arrows were hammered 5-2 by Stellenbosch which moved them up to 37 points.
In all, there are five clubs within three points of eighth place. And from fifth-placed City to 13th placed TS Galaxy, there are just seven points in it.
The only massive influencer on the lucrative top eight spot is that most teams only have two games to play.
The home team will be hoping to find some form to end the campaign. The weekend’s win was their first in five matches which included a bunch of draws and a loss most recently.
Arrows were unbeaten in four before the hiding at the hands of Stellenbosch.
