Brighton will be hoping to continue their good record against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Seagulls are dreaming of a place in the final of the FA Cup – they will meet Manchester City or Sheffield United.
Brighton have lost one of their last nine matches – a 2-1 loss against Spurs – as they head to Wembley full of confidence. In fact, their record is exactly the same as the Red Devils over that stretch – two draws and a loss to go with some good wins.
United managed to beat Nottingham Forest to move into third on the league table. They have also strung together three domestic clean sheets to go with their 2-2 home draw against Sevilla in the Europa League.
Brighton saw off League 2 opponents Grimsby Town 5-0 to reach the FA Cup semi-finals for just the third time in the club’s history. It’s a dream season despite losing Graham Potter to Chelsea and Leandro Trossard to Arsenal. Brighton are seventh – above Liverpool – which goes to show their rise and rise this term.
Brighton have beaten United in their last two outings including a 4-0 hammering at the end of last season.
REMEMBER THEIR LAST MATCH? Here’s how it ended …
“Erik ten Hag’s first Premier League match in charge of Manchester United ended in a shock 2-1 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion. Pascal Groß’s first-half brace took his personal tally against the Red Devils to six goals – the most by any Seagulls player against a single PL opponent.
The new man in charge wasted no time geeing up the Old Trafford crowd ahead of kick off as a new era dawned on the club, though that being said, once the match got underway it became clear that the defensive frailties of old were there to stay, as sloppy errors from Diogo Dalot and Fred in the opening 15 minutes went unpunished by Leandro Trossard and Danny Welbeck.”
