Betting preview: Golden Arrows vs Mamelodi Sundowns

The title has been wrapped up but there is still plenty to play for as Golden Arrows welcome Mamelodi Sundowns.

The match kicks off at 7:30pm at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

One of the biggest talking points will be whether Peter Shalulile can go on and win his third Golden Boot award.

It’s been a tough season filled with injuries for the Namibian but he remains at the top of the pile with five games to go.

Shalulile has 11 goals this season; he scored 16 goals when he shared the 2019/20 with Orlando Pirates forward Gabadinho Mhango and banged in 23 times for Sundowns last season en route to the award.

No one has won it three times.

SuperSport United’s Bradley Grobler is one back and looking to win his second title which he claimed two seasons ago.

Teammate Cassius Mailula is third with nine goals and in the form of his life while Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng is also on the nine goal mark and looking to play his way to the Player of the Season title.

It’s going to be a fascinating home stretch.

Sundowns have been ropey in recent weeks with three draws in their last four games. Two of those draws have been goalless too but who could blame them with the title already wrapped up and CAF Champions League and Nedbank Cup to consider.

They will need to be weary though of Arrows, who are chasing a top eight spot which guarantees them a place in the MTN8.

Arrows are unbeaten in three matches in the Premiership and have moved into seventh place.

Coach Rhulani Mokwena wants his side to finish strong and said after the goalless draw against Swallows that his team are“not in the business of giving away points”.
