Les Bleus are needing to ensure they don’t start slowly after they suffered two home defeats in three competitive matches last year in the Nations League, losing to both Denmark and Croatia in June.

The Dutch have a new mentor. Ronald Koeman taking the reins for a second time after a two-year stint between 2018 and 2020, in which he won 11 of his 20 games in the dugout.

Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane have both announced their international retirement which does leave the home side short of experience.

Memphis Depay will look to counteract any Mbappe involvement and he has been involved in three of Netherlands’ previous five head to head goals (G1, A2).

France have won this match in five of their last six encounters but the Dutch won the most recent tussle.
