SuperSport United can keep themselves out in front of the chasing pack with a win over Maritzburg United on Friday.

The match  at Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 7:30 and will give the home team the chance to stretch their lead to 4 points ahead of Saturday’s Soweto Derby which features the chasing Orlando Pirates.

Gavin Hunt might’ve blamed the ref during the draw but in truth, his side need to make more chances in the final third.

“It was disappointing [to draw], and big decisions [from referee] we never got. Football, in this type of conditions, is made on big decisions, and easy decisions to be made,” Hunt said afterwards.

“Yes, I’m feeling a bit aggrieved but it is not the first time this has happened to us. You can’t be reckless in this weather. If you are reckless in this weather, you are going to get red-carded. And that’s what should happen.

“There were too many reckless tackles which affected the game. We had two penalty shouts, those were two penalties.”

Maritzburg are without a win in four matches across all competitions. They lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates in a league clash last week Friday in Soweto.

The Team of Choice are still occupying the relegation playoff spot (15th) on the DStv Premiership standings – three points behind 11th-placed AmaZulu FC and three points above 16th-placed Marumo Gallants.

Veteran centre forward Bradley Grobler is oozing with confidence after netting his 99th domestic league goal when he scored against Royal AM and he will be confident of finding the back once again.
