There could be plenty of goals at the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday evening as Brentford play host to Liverpool.

The last two fixtures between the pair have seen Liverpool win 3-0 and draw 3-3. But it could be different this time around as Brentford’s David Raya has made more saves than any other PL keeper (75).

Brentford will start in fine spirit after a 2-0 London derby win over West Ham United in their final game of 2022.

The Reds came from behind to beat Leicester City 2-1, despite not scoring any of the three goals on the night in a bizarre game where Wout Faes scored twice in the back of his own net.

The biggest talking point heading into this contest is how Brentford will use Ivan Toney. He was stretchered off against the Hammers in a game where he scored and appeared to be in danger of a big injury. The news though is that it is only muscular and he could play a part tonight.

Jurgen Klopp has his own injury concerns as both Harvey Elliott and Andrew Robertson came off with knocks in Liverpool’s win over Leicester.

If Toney doesn’t start, then the Reds will be well-placed to make it four wins in a row and move to within one point of Manchester United.
