Portugal will be relishing the chance to secure their second straight victory in the World Cup when they take on Uruguay at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Monday evening.
Portugal start on the back of their Group H thriller which saw them run out as 3-2 victors over Ghana. Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix and Rafael Leao cancelled out goals from André Ayew and Osman Bukari at Stadium 974 in Doha.
La Celeste were forced to settle for a point after playing out to a goalless draw against Korea Republic. That leaves Uruguay in massive danger of early elimination should they lose this match.
The two teams have met three times including once in the World Cup, with Uruguay coming out on top following a 2–1 round of 16 victory in 2018.
Fernando Santos has no injury concerns ahead of the tie, while Diego Alonso will be without defender Ronald Araújo as he continues to recover from injury.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be hungry to get on the score sheet once again after he became the first player to score at five different World Cups following his opening goal in their win over Ghana.
Federico Valverde will look to find his form at the tournament after he failed to score or assist a goal in their draw against Korea Republic.
