Newcastle United are set to face Everton at St James’ Park when they meet in the next Premier League clash on Wednesday evening.

The Magpies are currently on a five-match unbeaten run in the league which included a gutsy goalless draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Everton are looking to respond after back-to-back defeats; the latest a 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle are performing well this season and will start in sixth place while Everton’s defeat saw them drop down to 14th.

Both sides will be gunning for maximum points in their upcoming fixture but when they last squared off in the Premier League Newcastle and Everton claimed one win each in the home and away fixture.

Eddie Howe will have five key players on the sideline through injury, which includes Karl Darlow, Emil Krafth, Matt Ritchie, Allan Saint-Maximin and Alexander Isak.

Frank Lampard will also have five players out injured for the clash, which includes Ben Godfrey, Nathan Patterson, Andros Townsend, Mason Colgate and Yerri Mina.

All three of Kieran Trippier’s goals for Newcastle has come from free kicks at St James’ Park, which also includes the final goal in this fixture last season. 

When the two sides last met, Alex Iwobi scored the only goal of the game and four of his five goals have been the opening goal for Everton.
