Erling Haaland looms large this weekend as Manchester City host Southampton at the Etihad Stadium in Premier League action.
The Sky Blues comes into this fixture looking for their third straight win in the league after they trashed rivals Manchester United 6-3. The win was marked by hat-tricks from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.
Southampton, meanwhile, are currently on a three-game winless run in the league after they conceded a 2-1 defeat to Everton at home.
City currently finds themselves sitting in second place in the league standings with 20 points, one point behind log leaders Arsenal, while the Saints sit in 16th place on the log – level on seven points ith 15th place West Ham United after eight matches.
Southampton do though have a good record against City in the last few seasons as three of the last six outings have ended in wins for City, while the home and away Premier League fixture ended in draws last season.
Pep Guardiola will continue to be without the likes of Aymeric Laporte and Kalvin Phillips, who are out due to injury, while Ralph Hasenhüttl also only has two players sidelined, Tino Livramento and Roméo Lavia, respectively.
Phil Foden has begun to hit form for Man City after netting four goals in his last two league games after bagging a hat-trick in their hammering of Manchester United over the weekend.
Joe Aribo will be looking to add to his goal tally of two goals in eight matches, especially after scoring the Saints only goal in their defeat to Everton this past weekend.
