Sundowns secured their spot at this stage of the competition after they claimed the bragging rights in the Tshwane derby following their 2-0 win over SuperSport United.

Remember when Orlando Pirates got hit for six?

When the two teams last met, Sundowns cruised to a comfortable 4-1 victory over the Buccaneers thanks to a brace by Pavol Safranko and goals from Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile back in December 2021.

Bucs coach Jose Riveiro and Sundowns mentor Rulani Mokwena will both be boosted by the fact that they will have their entire squads fit and ready once the domestic season resumes following the international break.

Olisa Ndah has been one of the Buccaneers standout performers this season, having kept four clean sheets in his last nine appearances across all competitions.

Marcelo Allende will be looking to continue his great form for Sundowns after already scoring three goals in six appearances, two in the DStv Premiership and one in the MTN8, respectively.
