The victory saw Spurs remain in third place on the table – level on 14 points with second-placed Manchester City, while Leicester’s defeat sees them remain rooted at the bottom of the table with one point from six matches.

When Tottenham and Leicester square off in the two-legged fixture last season, Spurs did the double over the Foxes by claiming a thrilling 3-2 win at the King Power Stadium in the first leg before securing a comfortable 3-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the return leg.

Antonio Conte will only have one play on the sidelines for the encounter as Lucas Moura is out of action as he continues to nurse his tendon injury.

Brendan Rodgers is expected to be without the services of two players, including Ryan Bertrand, who is recovering from knee surgery and Ricardo Pereira, who continues to recover from a achilles tendon rupture.

Harry Kane will be itching to get his name on the score sheet, having already scored five goals in six games following his winning goal against Fulham in his previous appearance for Spurs.

Jamie Vardy will look to rediscover his form for Leicester and end his six-match goal drought as he is yet to open his account for the Foxes this season, despite claiming two assists in six matches.
