Betting preview: Marumo Gallants vs Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs and Marumo Gallants will look to bounce back and return to winning ways in the DStv Premiership when they face off at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on Sunday afternoon.

Gallants will come into this fixture off the back of a 1-1 draw against Swallows FC while Chiefs need a win following their goalless draw against AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium this past Saturday.

The stalemate saw Gallants remain in 15th place with just five points while Chiefs’ are stuck in 12th position.

“Lack of goals is a concern, especially when you are playing at home,” Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane said.

“It would be different to say we didn’t create enough opportunities but today we did enough in my opinion to get at least two goals and it was unfortunate that we couldn’t bury them. But that gives us coaches some encouragement to work harder on the things that will make the difference, like finishing and final third entry – getting the chemistry right.

“We missed an opportunity to get the three points and are a bit short of the target we set ourselves for the first 10 games so now we have to dig deeper to make it up.

“But I can’t fault the performance today. I think the boys did their best but didn’t quite have the killer instinct to finish the game off.”

When the two sides met in the DStv Premiership last season, Chiefs came out the better side and snatch four points from a possible six after they were held to a goalless draw at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in the first leg before clinching a 1-0 win at the FNB Stadium in the return leg.

Gallants, who recently parted ways with head coach Romain Folz, will be without the services of winger Thabo Mnyamane, who continues to nurse his knee injury, while Athur Zwane will be equipped with a fully fit squad for the encounter.

Celimpilo Ngema will be looking to continue his impressive form for Gallants when they face the Soweto giants, having already contributed to three goals, including one goal and two assists in his last six matches.

Khama Billiat will be determined to turn his fortune around and open his account for Chiefs after failing to score a single goal this campaign, having only contributed to one goal with his assist against Maritzburg United.
