With just a few weeks to go until the transfer window slams shut, a number of big deals remain on the cards. Here we unpack the biggest stories …
Cristiano Ronaldo
The Portugal star wants out of the Manchester United. That’s no secret and things haven’t changed since the Red Devils lost both their opening games. Despite fan unrest, there is talk once more that Ronaldo could end up at Atletico Madrid. Speculation is rife that one of Antoine Griezmann or Alvaro Morata might move to England in a swap deal.
Casemiro
The Brazilian midfielder is the latest to be linked with solving Manchester United’s midfield crisis. Despite almost no talk around this deal for months, the press in Europe have gone wild over its potential. As Frenkie De Jong and even Adrien Rabiot appear unlikely to move to Old Trafford, it is now the Real Madrid star’s turn to be linked with a move.
Frenkie De Jong
Not much fresh talk on the Barcelona player’s saga … but since Manchester United are keen there has been talk that defender Diogo Dalot will move to Barca as part of an attempt to get De Jong to United. Even though, almost all gossip has De Jong keen on a Chelsea move.
Callum Hudson-Odoi
The Chelsea prospect appears to want out of the club and permanently. Not hard to see why when the club has been linked with De Jong consistently in the window. United States forward Christian Pulisic is another looking to leave and both could end up at Newcastle if the Magpies get their figures right.
Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana is another top target and Sky Sports say 19-year-old Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei will join the Blues from Inter Milan for £12.6m plus £4.2m in add-ons.
Dele Alli
Remember the bright talent that emerged at Spurs? Well … he appears to be leaving Everton soon with Turkish side Besiktas keen. Either via a loan or permanent deal but Alli is almost out.
